The Story behind our 'Sister Gin'

Updated: Jun 12, 2024

'Sister Gin' is a deeply personal tribute to our sisters - those we were lucky enough to be born with, those women we have grown to love over the years who feel like sisters, and those to whom being a 'Sister' is a profession.

Im lucky enough to have had all of them in my life, along with all of the conflicting great, joyous, hilarious highs and occasional lows that these genuine relationships embody.

Having lost my own precious sister to Motor Neurone Disease in 2022, MNDSA is a cause close to our hearts. $5 from each bottle of Sister Gin sold will be donated to MNDSA because, 'until theres a cure, theres care'

This gin is also for the sisters we collect throughout our lives, whom we may not always see, but who are a constant supportive presence in our lives. Where would we be without you?

Finally, as a recovering/reformed nurse myself, Ive seen 'Sisters' from both sides of the healthcare fence. As workmates, Ive fallen about laughing with them, cried with them, cared for others along with them and can say they are some of the best people I know.

When my sister was ill our family was on the receiving end of the compassion, love and kindness from the Sisters of KEMH in Perth - Sisters I will never forget.

Sister Gin was made over quite a few months of trialing different botanicals until we found the combination of tastes we think taste delicious. Sister Gin is Mandarin forward, infused with mulberry, naturally giving it a beautiful pink hue. Along with Juniper and Angelica, we've added 7 other ingredients to the still including ginger and lemongrass.

This gin was made with love in our Alembic copper pot still "Cyrel" (Cyrel is a family nickname for my sister Steph) and it is a heartfelt dedication to our sisters.
